About Kintari

A desktop tool, built to be kept .

Kintari is made by one person in Austria, for people who would rather have their knowledge and AI on their own desk than in someone else's cloud. This page is here so you know who is on the other end of your license.

01

Why Kintari exists

For ten years the trade-off was simple: either you used the convenient cloud tool and accepted that your notes lived on someone else's server, or you stayed on the desktop with a tool that knew nothing about modern AI. Kintari is the answer that refuses the trade-off. It is a desktop app — installed, owned, offline-capable — that nonetheless brings the kind of AI assistance most people only know from cloud tools. The data stays where it belongs. The AI comes to the desktop, not the other way around.

02

Who builds it

Kintari is designed and engineered by Daniel Schlager, a software engineer based in Austria. Daniel has been building software professionally since 2014, with a particular focus in the last years on AI-assisted productivity, knowledge graphs, and local-first architectures. Kintari is the consolidation of work that started as personal tooling and grew into a product when enough other people asked for it.

03

How it is funded

Kintari is sold directly. There is no venture capital, no investors with a quarterly target, no growth-at-all-costs mandate. The price is €99 once, paid by the people who use it. That keeps the incentives clean: the product needs to be worth the money, and there is nobody upstream pushing for telemetry, ads, account systems, or feature bloat.

04

Where the data lives

On your machine. The website (this one) runs in Switzerland on Infomaniak. License activations are recorded against an email address only — no profile, no usage tracking, no behavioural analytics. The desktop app phones home exactly twice in its lifetime: once for the optional license check, and once a day if you have updates enabled. Both can be switched off.

05

What is on the roadmap

Three directions, in priority order: (1) deeper Mail / Calendar / Contacts integration, including more providers and richer rules; (2) a richer Routines and Skills layer, so non-developers can automate without leaving the app; (3) better mobile companions for iOS and Android. Major capabilities are versioned — your €99 license keeps the major version you bought; future major versions are optional paid upgrades.
